It was a busy day. I took this shot in the early morning in Oshino.

I slept for a couple of hours and left Fujiyoshida to Tokyo. First, I visited Shinjuku. The area close to the west entrance of Shinjuku (A.K.A. Shinjuku Nishiguchi) is the best place to buy camera gear in Tokyo. Then, I went to Nikon’s Service Centre in Ginza to have them clean the sensors of my Nikon cameras. There are many camera-related shops and galleries in Shinjuku and Ginza areas. Great places for photo enthusiasts.

It takes hours as I asked them to clean three cameras. I moved to Cake Shop Hertier in Hakusan, Bunkyo-ward.

The owner of Hertier bought a number of my works and three of them are in display at the  shop. Visit the shop to see my prints.

You can take lunch at Hertier as well as buy cakes to bring them home. I ate pasta there. It was yummy =)

I took this shot with Sony Alpha 7 (ILCE-7) with the SIGMA 35mm ART f/1.4 attached via a mount adapter since all my Nikon were being cleaned at the service centre.YUGA KURITA HERTIER フロマージュクリュDSC01646Photo taken with Sony α7 w/ SIGMA ART 35mm F1.4 DG HSM

This cake is called “Fromage Cru.” I really loved it.  When I ate it, Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics was automatically placed back in my brain. Their Montblanc cakes was also superb.

If you go there by car you can park your car in the Hakusan Street. There are some parking meters in front of the shop. This place is pretty close to Bunkyo Civic Centre where you can shoot distant Fuji with skyscrapers in Shinjuku.YUGA KURITA 文京シビックセンター Bunkyo Civic Center Mount Fuji 富士山 展望台 Observation Deck YUG_4147-EditNikon D600 w/ Tamrom 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD (Model A005)

Then, I picked up my cameras at Nikon Ginza. I just paid ¥1,028 for three cameras because my D5300 is still within the warranty period and the sensor cleaning fee for the D600 is free indefinitely.

Then, I moved to ISLAND GALLERY in Kyobashi (close to Ginza) to sign my prints that were sold during my exhibition “Tales of Fuji | New Era.”YUGA KURITA SIGNING SDIM0253

Gladly, so many prints were sold during the exhibition that I had to sign many prints. Now I’m getting used to signing my prints. I think it is kinda of sacred ritual that I authorise my own works by signing and writing edition numbers.

ISLAND GALLERY was holding “Google+ Three Men Emerge  2014” that the gallery  scouts out talented photographers on the internet (mainly on Google+) and  sells their prints. I was one of the three men last year and held a solo exhibition this year. So I was moved a bit to see it’s becoming the first step on the ladder to a career in professional artist.

I thought I brought a FX 50mm f/1.8G but I carelessly attached the DX 35mm f1.8 to my A7. So photos are vignetted but it was usable enough.YUGA KURITA ISLAND GALLERY TAKAHIRO YAMAMOTO TAKASHI KITAJIMA DSC01658

Lastly, I visited  photo exhibition “Elegance” by Andrew Gram, which features monochrome images of pigeons and was very interesting and inspirational.Yuga Kurita Andrew Gram ELEGANCE 外苑前OFFICE DSC01689Photo taken with Sony α7 w/ Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G

I left Tokyo and drove back to Fujiyoshida. I used to live in Tokyo but I now live near Mt. Fuji. I forgot to turn  at the West Shinjuku Junction and ended up making an extra circle on the loop line of the Metropolitan Expressway. Tokyo Skytree looked beautiful though.

Then, I slept a little bit and woke up before 4 O’clock to take this shot. It was a busy day.YUGA KURITA Nikon D800E Mount Fuji RED FUJI Sunrise Dawn SIGMA ART 24-105mm_KE48634Nikon D800E w/ SIGMA ART 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM
